The Los Angeles Urban League firmly believes in engaging our young people and working with them to cultivate a sense of economic self-reliance to set a strong foundation for them moving forward. In partnership with the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE, pronounced “NIFTY”) and American Airlines, the Los Angeles Urban League offers a Summer Entrepreneurial Business Institute for students ages 14-18 who reside in Los Angeles County.  “BizCamp,” the two-week summer institute invites students to take a critical look at the needs of their community and then take action by developing an original business concept to positively create opportunity.

All of this leads up to the grand finale – the presentation of their business plan in the hopes of receiving a cash award to be applied to the development of their business moving forward.  The 11-day camp is July 10-21.  Applications are due May 31, 2017.

As the premier organization in advancing equal opportunities through an innovative programmatic slate, our mission is to provide resources to aid individuals in the following areas: Workforce Development, Entrepreneurship and Business Development, Personal Development, Education and Youth Development.
