Literacy Program

The Literacy Program, funded primarily by the Milken Foundation, serves youth and adults by providing basic skills training and tutoring in math and reading.  Youth are also invited to participate in special events such as IBM’s Black Families Technology Awareness Day at the California Science Center. Target also funds the Literacy program to develop reading circles and clubs.  Through our “Reading Is Fundamental” and “Read and Rise” programs, books are distributed quarterly to participants and programs are developed promoting reading and literacy.
