<p><strong>Position Definition</strong><br />
The Head Start Teacher II/Site Supervisor is responsible for the planning and implementation of a curriculum at their assigned site, as well as the classrooms that meets the Head Start Program requirements to promote social, physical and intellectual growth in preparation for primary school in preschool, day care center or other child development facility. The Teacher II/Site Supervisor position is responsible for all activities associated with the operations of the site. This position is situated in the Center Services component of the Head Start State Preschool program.<br />
<strong></strong></p>
<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Plans and implements the Individualized plans for the children in the site and classroom.</li>
<li>Creates and modifies the daily classroom lesson plans in accordance with established curriculum.</li>
<li>Ensures for a healthy and safe physical environment for the children, and integrates the parents into the educational program by providing a program that focuses on the parent as the prime educational provider</li>
<li>Coordinates and conducts parent/teacher conferences and home visits twice a year.</li>
<li>Maintains records pertinent information about children in the site and classrooms</li>
<li>Constantly maintains site and classroom security throughout the school day session.</li>
<li>Provides for the completion of necessary paperwork on the children in the site/classrooms (such as attendance reports, observations on individual children in the classrooms, enrollment records and reports, etc).</li>
<li>Continually remains current on child development practices through classes, workshops and membership in professional organizations.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Knowledge and Skills Required</strong><br />
To be eligible for this position, the applicant must have as a minimum:</p>
<ul>
<li> Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, regardless of the program option from an accredited college or university</li>
<li> State of California Children’s Center Supervisory Permit (CCSP) or higher.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Two (2) years experience in an instructional capacity</li>
<li>Three (3) semester units in administration of Pre-School (Nursery)</li>
<li>Twenty-Four (24) semester units of coursework in ECE/Child development (exclusive of fieldwork)</li>
<li>Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood education and development programs , and the ability to:
<ul>
<li>Work in a supportive team environment</li>
<li>Work and communicate with low-income parents</li>
<li>Communicate both orally and in writing</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Position Definition</strong><br />
The Service Coordinator is responsible for supervising and providing guidance and technical assistance to the case management staff who recruits Head Start children and link their families with health, special needs, nutrition, social services, mental health, and parent involvement services based on family needs, concerns and priorities. The Services Area Coordinator supervises an educational team which includes Family Services Associates and the Teaching staff. This position is situated in the Center Services component of a Head Start State Preschool program.</p>
<p><strong><span style="underline;">Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position</span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li> Responsible for implementing and monitoring established policies and procedures at the site level to assist in daily operations of all sites.</li>
<li>Monitor, provide technical support, and expert advice to Family Services Associates, and the teaching staff, through individual and group conferences, in analyzing case problems to improve their diagnostic skills.</li>
<li>Meets regularly with Family Services Associates, content coordinators and teachers to evaluate general needs of classrooms and families.</li>
<li>Implements and maintains a formal system of follow-up to ensure family needs are being met throughout the agency.</li>
<li>Ensures implementation of technical direction for both Family Service Associates and teaching staff.</li>
<li>Assigns responsibilities to specific work functions to the various family services staff members.</li>
<li>Responsible for supervising Family Service Associates and teaching staff.</li>
<li>Implements partnerships that promote family literacy, health, special needs, and other needs such as additional education and job training.</li>
<li>Implements ongoing recruiting strategies for additional enrolled children and their families.</li>
<li>Assists the program with the necessary demographic information regarding enrollment and community needs.</li>
<li>Implements and maintains partnerships/relationships with public, private, and community organizations to promote children and families accessing community resources that are responsive to their needs.</li>
<li>Responsible for completion of safe environment tools at each classroom and maintaining regulatory compliance.</li>
<li>Prepares monthly service area reports. Monitors Family Partnership activities.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Knowledge and Skills Required</strong><br />
To be eligible for this position, the applicant must have as a minimum:</p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in one of the social sciences with a minimum of 24 semester units (or quarter equivalent units) in Early Childhood Education, or Child Development, or applied coursework in a related field.</li>
<li>A valid California Child Development Program Director Permit</li>
<li>Two (2) to five (5) years experience in a preschool program in parent education with low-income families.</li>
<li>Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood education and development programs , and the ability to:
<ul>
<li>Work in a supportive team environment</li>
<li>Work and communicate with low-income parents</li>
<li>Communicate both orally and in writing</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Position Definition</strong><br />
The Governance Services Coordinator supports the connective integration of Policy Committee and LAUL Board activities and maintains a calendar to ensure that dates for action items are met by both groups. This position is situated in the Director’s Office of the Head Start and State Preschool program.</p>
<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position</strong></p>
<ul>
<li> Acts as liaison to both the Policy Committee (PC) and LAUL Board providing support, notification, scheduling of meetings, and ensures the completion and distribution of minutes for the PC.</li>
<li>Prepares correspondence, agendas and minutes, lead meetings and distribute information</li>
<li>Coordinates the provision of budget reports and fiscal support and ensures reimbursement for PC members when applicable</li>
<li>Ensures that overall program content input and progress reports are available for appropriate PC committee review and action.</li>
<li>Ensures that Policy Committee and LAUL Board members are provided a comprehensive orientation program, including the distribution of a Policy Committee Handbook that includes HS Performance Standards, HS grant application, service plans, applicable policies, Policy Committee and LAUL Board by-laws, and Self Assessment Reports</li>
<li>Ensures that the Policy Committee members receive comprehensive meeting packets that are mailed at least 2-weeks in advance of all meetings. Provides similar information as appropriate to the LAUL COO for distribution to board members</li>
<li>Ensures Policy Committee members, staff, and Board receive regular press releases concerning Head Start activities</li>
<li>Ensures that the LUAL Board Head Start Advisory Committee is sent Policy Committee meeting announcements and all relevant information for shared governance. Reviews and recommends changes to Governance procedures to comply with Head Start regulations and ensure processes for shared governance are up to date.</li>
<li>Provides an annual written report on Head Start activities for the LAUL Board and Policy Committee.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Knowledge and Skills Required</strong><br />
To be eligible for this position, the applicant must have as a minimum:</p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Management and Administration.</li>
<li>Two (2) to five (5) years experience in program administration with responsibility for working with a governing or advisory body that has responsibility for programmatic and administrative decision-making and/or recommendations.</li>
<li>Demonstrated knowledge of governance concepts, and the development of processes and procedures related to policy-making; and the ability to:
<ul>
<li> Work in a supportive team environment</li>
<li>Work and communicate with low-income parents, administrators and board members</li>
<li>Communicate both orally and in writing</li>
<li>Develop written procedures in response to mandated requirements.</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
