Why is this important?

The growing number of uninsured individuals is a major issue in California, but many individuals, or families, may be qualified to receive assistance. Finding solutions to the issues of uninsured individuals and families is increasingly important as their numbers grow. It is estimated that as many as one-third of people without insurance are eligible for some type of assistance. Those who are pregnant, or live in a household with children under the age of 19, are even more likely to qualify.

All government insurance programs have income limits such as the Healthy Families and no-cost Medi-Cal and the above table is provided as an eligibility guide only.
