Chief William Bratton stops by Los Angeles Urban League to say "goodbye" and is joined by the South Division leadership team. Chief Bratton will be missed but the legacy of mutual respect and collaboration will live on in South Los Angeles.

Toyota 1st Annual Black History Month Fair

On February 4th 2009, the Los Angeles Urban League (LAUL) presented and celebrated Black history Month at the 1st Annual Toyota Black History Month Fair. There, hundreds of participants gained insight on the many vibrant services and products driven by African American entrepreneur nation wide. LAUL staff from such components as the Neighborhoods @ Work and the Work Source Center engaged participants in understanding how they, their families and or friends may benefit from LAUL services.

Paint for Kids

On December 27, 2008 72 parents, Board members, staff and volunteers completed painting projects at four Los Angeles Urban League Head Start Child Development Centers (Lew Sand Weltor, Astro Village, McCall and Burlington). As a result of the contribution from this event the Head Start program saved and estimated $15,000.00. This exceptional day saw the community working together to improve the circumstances of our deserving children.

CBS Early Show at Vernon Head Start Program

Sears and Craftsman donated a wonderful playhouse for the Vernon Head Start site and provided toys and other projects for the children to enjoy. More than 60 children and their parents participated in the CBS Early Show shoot which aired live on the east coast (tape delayed on west coast) beginning at 7 am.
