Weingart Supports Los Angeles Urban League’s Neighborhoods@Work

The Los Angeles Urban League announced today that the Weingart Foundation has agreed to support the League’s Neighborhoods@Work with a $2 million challenge grant that will paid out over a four-year period. Neighborhoods@Work, the lynchpin of the League’s five-year strategic plan, is a systemic change model designed to revitalize the 70-block area surrounding Crenshaw High School. The area, known as Park Mesa Heights, has a population of 10,000 residents. “This grant from the Weingart Foundation is extraordinary. It confirms their unwavering commitment to the betterment of our community, and also reveals their serious intent to pursue and support innovative solutions to urban issues” said Blair Taylor, President and CEO of the Los Angeles Urban League. “The Weingart Foundation’s challenge grant will leverage other resources of private support for this critically important work” stated Taylor.
