Paint for Kids

On December 27, 2008 72 parents, Board members, staff and volunteers completed painting projects at four Los Angeles Urban League Head Start Child Development Centers (Lew Sand Weltor, Astro Village, McCall and Burlington). As a result of the contribution from this event the Head Start program saved and estimated $15,000.00. This exceptional day saw the community working together to improve the circumstances of our deserving children.

• A special thanks goes out to the parents of children at Astro Village who came out in force to support the program.
• A special thanks goes to the Los Angeles Urban League Board of Directors Head Start Committee who sponsored the event.
• A special thanks goes to Ed Rodriguez of the Los Angeles Urban League Board of Directors Head Start Committee whose company, Pepsi, provided refreshments for the event.
• A special thanks goes to Lejon Nall, Ray Barlow, Ron Smith and the Head Start facilities crew who coordinated materials for the event.
• A special thanks goes to Florene Alexander who brought almost a dozen volunteers to the event
• A special thanks goes to the brothers of Phi Beta Sigma who were instrumental in the improvements at our Burlington Child Development Center
