LAMEC Podcast by Arie
During the summer of 2008, several young participants at the Los Angeles Urban League's Milken Youth Center participated in a Podcast Bootcamp. The participants were tasked with making podcasts and videos about the Youth Center under the instruction of Daphne Bradford. In this podcast, Arie Dale talks describes the LAMEC Program at the center.
I have participated in a program that the Los Angeles Urban League offers called the Los Angeles Multicultural Education Collaborative. LAMEC was created to assist the community, adults, and youth to attain maximum educational outcome. The Los Angeles Multicultural Education Collaborative program offers extensive workshops on education, leadership, and advocacy. The workshops include college readiness programs, financial planning, the financial aid process, and scholarships. The program educates it students in ways to survive using the six Universal Survival Laws while providing Life, Freedom and Future Economic Opportunity. The workshops are very relaxed and you are also given time to express your thoughts and feelings with the famous rubber chicken to your peers. The programs allow you to learn, laugh, and enhance educational outcome.
