iMatter 2 Campaign

iMatter2 Early Education Campaign

Under the executive leadership of Dr. Patricia Phipps, Vice President of Early Education and Development, the League is taking a fresh, innovative, and exciting new approach to ensuring that our children have the best and brightest start on their academic journey. We recognize that it takes a village to raise a child, in turn, not only does early education matter, but engaged parents and competent teachers matter as well. Today the early education division of the League is poised to:

    • Operate one the best State Preschool Programs in LA County- offering 21st century and culturally competent instruction.
    • Present dynamic training that empowers parents and guardians to actively and comprehensively engage in their child’s education through the LA Urban League Parent Academy.
    • Provide cultural sensitivity and learning style coaching to K-5 teachers within the Crenshaw High School feeder pattern and beyond through the LA Urban League Teacher’s Coaching Program, in order to ensure that our teachers know how to effectively educate our children.
  • On May 20, 2012 the League will launch the iMatter2 Early Education Campaign, a multi-dimensional movement that will exploit multiple media outlets to:

      • Raise awareness about the importance of early education
      • Raise revenue that supports the League’s early education efforts
